This group meets to discuss the pressures of the workplace in order to try to come up with some solutions to how to communicate to an employer that we have a learning disability so they will listen and be more tolerant/accepting.
The OFL-Occupational Disability Response Team established this group to provide workers, unions and workplace representatives with an place to plan and organize training and community awareness events on topics of worker's compensation, disability benefits, return to work and disability prevention.
This group was established in 2010 by a small group of amputees who met while receiving outpatient physiotherapy at St. John's Rehab Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Right from the get go, we realized how important it was for amputees and caregivers to have a social network outside of the hospital/rehab setting where we could share ideas, and be able to learn from one another. The Sleep Wake Disorders Association of Toronto is a group of volunteers that run a monthly support group in North York. We provide support, education, and advocacy for sufferers of sleep disorders including, but not limited to, narcolepsy, sleep apnea, restless legs, insomnia, night terrors, and sleepwalking.
